The uniqueness and versatility of the alloy Inconel 22, Hastelloy C-22 is
manifested in the fact that due to its composition -
nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten, it is endowed with high resistance to
various corrosive formations, including crevice corrosion, local selective
corrosion , and is not subject to stress corrosion cracking under high
temperatures.
The high percentage of chromium in the composition is responsible for good
resistance in oxidizing environments. Molybdenum and tungsten provide resistance
to localized corrosion.
A- room temperature, like annealed.
Alloy 22 is not only characterized by resistance to oxidizing aqueous media, it
exhibits high resistance to chlorine and nitric acid solutions, any acidic media
with inclusions of chlorine ions.
In addition, Hastelloy C-22 is resistant to the effects of seawater (running and
stagnant), chlorine anhydrides, acetic, sulfuric, hydrochloric and formic acids,
and 2-valent copper. It is not susceptible to corrosion by direct contact with
iron and copper chlorides, even with impurities of organic and inorganic
substances when heated.
Due to its versatile qualities, Hastelloy C-22 is suitable for use in special
areas when alloys of other groups cannot cope.
Spheres of use of the alloy:
Manufacturing in the pharmaceutical industry;
Manufacture of cellophane and cellophane products;
Chlorination systems equipment;
Pesticide production;
Chemical industry (scrubbers, bleaching plants, pickling systems, nuclear fuel
processing units);
Wastewater treatment.

B366 - Forged fittings;
B564 - forgings;
B574 - rods;
B575 - Plates, sheets and strips;
B619 - welded pipes;
B622 - seamless pipes;
B626, B751 - welded pipes;
B775 - welded pipes;
B924 - Seamless welded tubes for heat exchangers and condensers with integrated
fins.
